“With my advanced studies I can [gain] a lot of knowledge for my bright future. Education is the most important thing…and one of the main factors in success. Without an education [one] can only work as a household laborer, construction worker, or work in the garden with a less than satisfactory income [that] often [leads to one’s basic] needs never being fulfilled. I realize that education is very important in my life for a good future. I am very grateful to an organization from the United States, [LINC], and the people who always sponsor me for my needs during my study in college. With [their] help, I can continue my studies; only prayer I can repay. I know that without you I will never be able to continue my studies until now.” - Albert

UPDATE (July 2018): Albert has recently graduated (top of his class!) with a bachelor’s degree in English. Since then, with the help of his older sister and her husband, Albert moved to Jakarta—the capital city of Indonesia. Financially this was not easy for them to do but, they felt, this was the only way for him to possibly have a change at a better future. Never having left his home island before, seeing the big city for the first time excited him. He constantly prays for a sponsor that would enable him to continue his studies. His current goal—receive his masters in English  and then to one day, hopefully, study abroad, like here in the U.S. 

Please continue to pray for Albert. Growing up as an orphan, he and his sisters have never had it easy. He is now a determined young man who strives to break the cycle of poverty within his family.
